Album Not Showing Up in Windows Media Player - dawkinstheyetage01

Hi - I'll be glad to try and help you out here but please note I am about to be away for a week so we may not be able to get properly involved until my return!

I need some more info first... How were the music files on the USB stick originally created? Are they copied from another PC or created by one of these vinyl/tape to usb converters or something else? Also what format are the files in?

The information you add to files such as file (track) name is not what WMP reads. WMP takes information from the file's 'Properties - Details' tab (example below) so if that is not present it will default-list it as 'unknown'. Note that certain file-types (particularly wav. files) do not carry this info....  Look forward to an update... Cheers, Ric.

Hi Ric - thanks for trying to help me - the info you have given is great.  I think the problem is that I due to the device I loaded the usb stick from.  I have a Brennan JB7 which is great - you can load all you're cds on it so you don't have cd's taking up room.  I was trying to load from my Brennan to a USB stick to then use in the car and on my laptop.  They loaded in MP3 format, and on looking at the upload on the laptop there is no info in the properties box (as you advised to check).  So this is the reason.

I have overcome this a little - I've got out my cds and loaded them to my laptop and then onto the usb stick.  so the usb stick now has them listed by album/artist, not just an A-Z list of tracks.

Thanks for your help.
